Nothing, the London-based consumer technology company, is set to release its latest smartphone, the Nothing Phone (2), later this year. While the company has been tight-lipped about the phone’s specifications, rumors and leaks have been circulating online for months. Nothing Phone (2) Rumors and Leaks
Rumors about the Nothing Phone (2) started circulating online when Nothing announced that they are working on a new smartphone. However, the company did not provide any details about the phone’s specifications or release date.
One of the most persistent rumors about the Nothing Phone (2) is that it will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. This chip is known for its high performance and efficiency, making it an ideal choice for flagship smartphones.
However, a Qualcomm executive let slip on social media that the phone will carry the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 processor instead. This is still a very powerful chip, but it is not as advanced as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
During the MWC 2023 event, Nothing confirmed that the Phone (2) will indeed have a Snapdragon 8 series chip inside, but they did not confirm which specific processor it would be.
Alex Katouzian, SVP and GM of mobile at Qualcomm, took to LinkedIn to congratulate Carl Pei and his team on the upcoming release of the Phone (2), further confirming that the phone will be powered by a Snapdragon 8 series chip.
What We Know About the Nothing Phone (2) So Far
While we don’t have all the details about the Nothing Phone (2) yet, we do know that it will be a significant upgrade from the Nothing Phone (1). The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 is a very powerful chip when compared to the 778G+ processor that currently powers the Nothing Phone 1.
